Technical parameters

Fuel Cells are source of energy with a great potentional because they permit to transfer chemical energy directly to the electrical one - that means they produce pure energy. The only waste product is water. Their main problem at the moment is the cost which is driven mainly by expensive platinum catalysts.

Our unique technology allows significant reduction of costs of the catalyst required for this process by reducing the platinum loading. We also developed our proprietary Fuel Cell Testing Stations that are designed to simulate real-life conditions and are therefore suitable for academic research as well as for industrial purposes.

Specifications

LEANCAT developed almost Pt free LEANCAT PEMFC anodes with 0.004-0,006 mg of Pt/cm2 exhibiting outstanding mass activity. We are proposing two options:

1.   Custom size LEANCAT anode with integrated Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL - 250 micron carbon paper) for use in Hydrogen/Air Fuel Cells. Pt loading 0.004 mg/cm2

2.  Custom size 5-Layer Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) with integrated Gas Diffusion Layers (GDL - 250 micron carbon papers) for use in Hydrogen/Air Fuel Cells. Cost effective MEA with very low Pt loading LEANCAT anode (0.004 mg/cm2) and a mid-range Platinum loading (Pt/carbon powder 0.3 mg/cm²) cathode and 0.002” membrane (Nafion® 212).
